" When the passion is freshness and the commitment nutritious,

the harvest is Health and Happiness. "

Frais (pronounced as Frey, meaning Fresh in French) is indeed the Mother Seed of our enterprise. We have reimagined farming. Using Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) technology as our base, we have created a devout farm venture to deliver fresh produce all year round.

We are rooted here with a definite purpose. A purpose that looks beyond the function of simply farming and delivering produce. As a conscious enterprise with our core elements being food and nutrition, we are cultivating a long-term vision that benefits mankind.

Founders

Shashank & Khushboo Agarwal

Shashank, an engineer by education, is deeply passionate about food, ingredients, and farming. He is the chief grower at Frais Farms – you will mostly find him at the farm experimenting with different varieties of plants! Khushboo, a psychologist by education, takes care of marketing and customer service.

How are we good for the PEOPLE and the PLANET?

At Frais Farms, we have a one-point agenda - producing the freshest, cleanest and most delicious vegetables! To achieve this, we leave nothing to chance. We have invested in setting up state-of-the-art hydroponic farms. Hydroponic farming is a method of farming used for centuries. The hydroponic farming method is a boon considering the current global scenario of less availability of cultivable land, depleting water resources and increasing carbon footprint. We are experiencing climate change now more than ever and are set on an irreversible path of scarcity. It is essential to act on this today and help our planet in every little way possible. Hydroponic farming goes hand in hand with organic farming and doesn’t compete with it. Both methods aim to grow plants without pesticides and any unnatural substances. However, there is only a limited amount of non-renewable resources left to fulfil the dietary requirements of our growing population. This is where hydroponics help. This farming method is only complementary to traditional farming, benefitting both – PEOPLE and the PLANET.

01

HYGIENIC HANDLING AT ALL STAGES

One of our strongest USPs is the secure and sanitised handling of the veggies from seed to delivery. Wearing a mask, gloves and a head cap at all times is mandatory while working with plants, even before it became a COVID-19 norm. We have sanitisers placed every 20 meters inside the polyhouse. Our seeds are carefully stored in air-tight containers at a controlled temperature to avoid fungal or bacterial exposure. All our tools and equipment used for sowing, inspecting, harvesting and packaging are thoroughly sanitised before each use. Our vans are sanitised daily to ensure only safe produce reaches your door.

02

NO HARMFUL SPRAYS

The advantage of growing in a protected and climate-controlled environment is that it creates first-grade protection from pests and insects. This eliminates the need to spray any harmful pesticides or insecticides.

03

SAFE and NUTRITIOUS VEGGIES 365 days!

We use cocopeat and RO purified water as our base media to grow our produce, thus eliminating soil-borne and water-borne bacteria; protected cultivation enables us to provide the right amount of sunlight at the right time with the right temperature to grow the most nutritious vegetables - safe for you and your children.

04

LESS USAGE OF LAND

At Frais Farms, we do not use soil for cultivation. We use a mineral-based, nutrient-rich solution to nourish our plants in this soilless environment, giving them the perfect conditions they need to grow. Our method allows us to use 80% less land to grow twice the yield compared to field farming.

05

MORE WATER EFFICIENCY

Our method allows for water recirculation and no agricultural runoff; we have a protected roof. So we are 90% more water-efficient than field farming, where most water evaporates from the soil, causing water wastage. We also practice rainwater harvesting to save water.

06

LESS CARBON MILES

Our farm is located only 100 km from Mumbai, so our supply chain is short. We use 95% less fuel to bring your vegetables home than regular vegetables from different parts of the state. Thus, using fewer carbon miles to send the freshest veggies your way!

Our Roots

We at Frais Farms believe that clean food or pesticide-free food is an essential and a necessity, not a luxury that only a few can afford. Pesticide is a slow poison we take with every meal when we do not know where our produce comes from.

Knowing where your food is coming from is the first step to the long journey of clean eating. Our part is to sow the seeds of making it into a way of life. Your part is to make the right choices.

We are on our way to creating a conscious, close-knit community striving to change lives and heal the world.

Here we have nurtured an excellent symbiotic relationship with the locals and nature. Today, our team comprises local tribals, agriculture and management experts. We have tribal villagers working alongside hydroponic experts in a sensitive environment, monitoring high-tech sensors, learning new farming techniques and bringing their knowledge of traditional farming at use to produce high quality vegetables. They have been extensively trained to grow using hydroponic systems. We love this merger and how! We are genuinely LOCAL in every sense!
